This study empirically assesses whether political regimes are a significant determinant diffusion. Specifically, we examine the effects on diffusion using data based sample 104 technologies from 137 countries period 1901 to 2000. We consider detailed categories investigate differences in impacts each technology. Our estimation results show that democracy does not have impact overall but it positively associated with health- agriculture-related technologies. Do Nominal Rigidities Matter for the Transmission of Technology Shocks?

A commonly held view is that nominal rigidities are important for the transmission of monetary policy shocks. We argue that they are also important for understanding the dynamic effects of technology shocks, especially on labor hours, wages, and prices. Based on a dynamic general equilibrium framework, our closed-form solutions reveal that a pure sticky-price model predicts correctly that hours...

Multiple regimes of diffusion.

We consider the diffusion of independent particles experiencing random accelerations by a space- and time-dependent force as well as viscous damping. This model can exhibit several asymptotic behaviors, depending upon the limiting cases which are considered, some of which have been discussed in earlier work. Here, we explore the full space of dimensionless parameters and present an "asymptotic ...
